A complete walkthrough of how the league app works — from reading your fixtures to understanding the standings, ratings, and how your weekly pairings are made — whether your league runs the adaptive Swiss format or a classic Standard rotation.
Fixtures tab
The Fixtures tab shows every match for the current session — who's playing who, what time, and the score as games are completed by your admin.
Tap 👤 Show my fixtures to filter down to just your games. Pick your name from the list and the app remembers it for the session.
Once a game finishes your admin logs the score and it appears on your match card. Results feed directly into the standings.
If a guest is playing in place of a regular team member, they appear with a SUB badge — so it's always clear who the regular player is and who's standing in. On weeks where a sub is active, a notice banner appears at the top of the fixtures list highlighting who is covering.
If a player has marked unavailable, their card will show an absence note. Walkovers are recorded where needed and both teams still receive their points allocation.
If a player is injured or has to step away mid-season, your admin can swap in a new player to take over that team permanently. The replacement carries the same team record forward — all previous wins, losses, and standings are preserved. The league continues without any disruption to the table.
* Live scoring is only active when a dedicated event runner is in place to log results in real time. At standard weekly sessions your admin updates scores after each game.
Standings
The standings update after every fixture. Here's exactly what each column is showing you and how the ranking is decided.
⚠️ Minimum games threshold — to be eligible for a final league position, teams must have played at least 80% of the average games played across all active teams. Teams below this threshold are shown with an ineligible badge and are not ranked — this prevents a team winning the league on a small sample of results. The threshold is calculated automatically and scales with the season.
| # Team | Win% | W | L | Buch. | Rtg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1Smash | 88% | 7 | 1 | 18 | 3.8 |
| 2Drive | 75% | 6 | 2 | 15 | 3.5 |
| 3Rally | 62% | 5 | 3 | 13 | 3.2 |
| 4Dink | 50% | 4 | 4 | 10 | 3.0 |
| 5Lob | 38% | 3 | 5 | 8 | 2.7 |
Player profiles
Every player in the league gets their own profile — updated automatically as results come in each week. Tap any team name in the standings to see its players' individual breakdowns.
How many individual games you've won and what percentage that is of all games played. A high win rate means consistently strong performances across the season.
Not just whether you win — how convincingly. A big positive Diff shows you're dominating games, not just scraping through. It's also the first tiebreaker in the standings.
Your personal rating on the 2.0–5.0 scale, updated each week. Beating stronger-rated opponents earns you more. Over the season it becomes an accurate reflection of your level.
The formats
Every RallyPoint league runs one of two formats, chosen when the league is created. Swiss adapts to results — pairings are generated fresh each week from the current standings, so you always play someone at a similar level. Standard is the classic fixed rotation — everyone plays everyone, regardless of results. First, Swiss:
The first week is randomised. Nobody has played yet so there are no standings to sort by — everyone starts equal.
From week 2, teams are ranked by wins and then paired 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th and so on. Similar records means similar ability — matches stay competitive.
The algorithm avoids pairs who have already played each other. As the season progresses you'll face a wide variety of opponents, not the same teams on rotation.
Standings run on win rate, with Buchholz and points difference behind it — so even on a tough night, every point you score protects your position. Nothing is mathematically decided until the very end of the season.
Standard is the classic league format: a fixed round-robin rotation, set from the start. Your results never change who you face — you simply work through every opponent in turn.
Pairings follow a set rotation from week 1 — the standings have nothing to do with it. Win or lose, next week's opponents are already decided by the schedule.
No matchup repeats until you've faced every other team. Once the rotation completes, it starts again — and the schedule always balances so every pairing happens as evenly as the maths allows across the season.
Because the rotation doesn't depend on results, your admin can generate every week's fixtures up front — so you can browse ahead with the ◀ ▶ arrows and see exactly what's coming.
Everything else works exactly like Swiss — win rate, points difference, Buchholz, ELO ratings, absences, subs and injury swaps. Only the way opponents are chosen differs.
💡 Which format is my league? Ask your admin — or open the league's FAQ tab, which adapts to your league type and explains exactly how your season works.
Matchup grid
Find the Matchup Grid inside the Attendance & Matchups sub-tab. It shows every head-to-head result across the season in one compact grid.
Find your team on the left. Read across the row — each column header is an opponent. Where the row and column meet you'll see W (you won), L (you lost), or · if you haven't played yet.
On smaller screens team names are shown as initials to keep the grid readable. Tap any initial to see the full team name in a pop-up.
On wider screens the grid automatically expands to show first names — no need to tap.

Each session
Every fixture follows the same rhythm. Here's the full picture from before you arrive to when the next pairings are set.
Before each session your admin generates and publishes the week's fixtures. In Standard leagues the whole season may already be published, so you can browse ahead. New match cards appear on the Fixtures tab with times and opponents.
If you can't make it, let your admin know in advance. Absences are recorded in the app — if both players in a team are absent, the week is handled appropriately and both teams receive their points.
Show up, find your opponent, and play. When a game finishes, give the score to your admin. They log it in the app and the standings update automatically.
Once all results are in, the full standings recalculate — win rates, point differential, Buchholz, and ELO ratings all update. Check the Standings tab to see where everyone sits.
In a Swiss league your admin generates the next round from the updated standings — similar records, no repeats. In a Standard league the rotation simply continues to the next set of opponents. Either way, the fixtures are ready for the following session.
